Hairstyles to Keep Hair out of Face

We love driving down to the beach with our family. It is our favorite summer time activity. But, the constant windy breeze has a way of tangling my daughters long hair and getting it in her face. I find myself constantly pushing my little girls hair out of her face. It is a constant struggle. Not only on beach trips but it is a daily battle. It droops down as she's reading, gets in her food and blocks her view. Here are a few hairstyles that we do to keep those wispy bangs at bay.

Hair Bangs

Cutting blunt hair bangs is a great low maintenance solution. The hair can be free and I don't need to style it. This is such an easy hairstyle or it can be done on short or long hair. Straight hair works best for this option but it is easily as cute with wavy or curly hair.

Ponytail

Another simple, low maintenance solution. For longer hair, you can do a single ponytail. For shorter haircuts, do two ponytails so you can capture all the hair in the hair tie. In this photo, we just did a low ponytail and added a little wrap around detail. Two bar clips held everything in place.

Braided Hair

This one is my daughters favorite. Every morning she comes in and asks if we have time to do braids that day. There are so much possibilities, a french braid, double braids, dutch braid, fishtail braid, box braids, a small bang braid down the middle or two small bang braids 90's style. This hairstyle can be simple or complex. In this photo, the little girl had gorgeous red wavy locks. We made two ponytails, braided each one and added fun hair clips to spice it up.

Hair Buns

The cutest hairstyle. We love doing space buns, taking only the top half of the hair, dividing it down the middle and twisting them into buns on either side of the head. The hair stays put with this cute style. We love how it looks with curly hair! This sweet girl has natural curls and it was an easy way to style her hair. The clips were an excellent hair accessory. You can also do a simple low bun or a messy bun.

Hair Clips

Another fast solution is just clipping hair away from the face. You don't need any skills to clip a hair accessory to the side of the head! We have the cutest hair clip sets for this hair style. Here is a dusty colorway we call bloom or a princess themed hair clip set. Find them on amazon here. Our favorite solution is combining one of the above hair styles with clips so that the hair stays in place! Braids with clips, ponytails with clips, bangs with clips, you get it. Plus you can mix and match the hair accessories to match your outfit.
